About Us

We are a 100% volunteer-based organization with committed, active members that meet every Tuesday noon at Anthony’s on Shilshole.
 
Because Rotary Club of Ballard is a volunteer organization, and its members underwrite the Club’s operating costs, we have extremely low overhead costs to help ensure the money raised through our fundraising efforts goes back into the
community.

Volunteer projects include:

• Seaview Avenue street cleanup
• Rotary First Harvest
• Dictionary distribution – Ballard area third grade classes
• Disadvantaged Youth Holiday Shopping Spree

Accomplishments:

Over the last four years, Ballard Rotary has raised in excess of $250,000. The proceeds have been used for numerous programs both in the Ballard and Seattle communities, and throughout the world.

Programs funded include:

• Merit scholarships to Ballard High School Seniors
• Program support for Ballard Food Bank
• Whittier Elementary School – Student Writing Project
• Rotary First Harvest – program support to help provide fresh produce to people in need
• Seattle Public Library & Ballard Elementary Schools for the Global Reading Challenge
• AHOPE AIDS Orphanage in Ethiopia
• Uganda Water Project to refurbish existing wells to provide potable water supplies for newly settled refugee families
• Program support for Ballard Senior Services
